After our trip to the monastery, I found myself wandering around campus taking photos of various objects. Here’s what I came up with:
I stumbled upon a blooming tree as I was walking to lunch. I instantly fell in love with color of these flowers. The contrast between the darker outside and the lighter inside gives these flowers a very unique dimension. I also liked the shallow depth of field in this image. To me, it allows the viewer to have a more intimate connection with the flower without being so distracted by the other flowers around it. I loved the overall brightness of all of the colors. The sky and grass are very vivid blue and green, respectively. I think that the brightness of the background helps the reds and magentas in the flower stand out even more. Green and blue don’t have any red mixed into them, so there’s nothing to distract from the red of the flowers.
