AirPano is a group of Russian photographers who enjoy taking aerial pictures of various cities and landscapes. I stumbled upon their work while looking for cool aerial photographs. Needless to say, their work is beyond “cool.” They capture so many elements in their photos from color to lines to depth to imagination.
The first photo in the gallery is a spectacular bird’s eye view of a shipping port. From this angle, it looks as if the buildings were put up in order to fence in the harbor and protect it. I feel like the buildings are such an important aspect of this shot because they not only focus the viewer’s eye to the lively center, but also because, without them, the picture would probably be very dull. The buildings provide a bit of character to the piece.
In the second photo, I fell in love with the color of the buildings. I find it amazing how, in just one shot, so many lives can be captured. I think this photo helps to immortalize the city and its vivacity.
